1. Ipads/Ipods Owned by Assistive Technology Lending Library
a. APPS are put on the Ipods/Ipads that are in the Assistive Technology Lending by Jaelyn Birch before they go out. Consequently, there is no need for steps for downloading or passwords.
b. The Lending Library APPs are funded by the Lending Library budget.
c. Each device has the same APPs except for the one that has Proloquo2go.
d. If you find a great FREE APP that you would like to share, send an email to [email protected] and it can be added to the Lending Library.
e. If you find a great APP that costs and you would like to share, send an email to [email protected] . If we can find funds in our budget, it can be added to the Lending Library.
f. One Ipad has Proloquo2go on it as this APP is very expensive and it is helpful to a very specific population. It is loaned out when there are communication challenges.
2. Ipads/Ipods Purchased by Golden Hills School Division (Teacher or School Ipads/Ipods and All Ipads/Ipods in the AT Projects Last Year and Now Assigned to the Schools)
a. All GHSD Ipads are now enrolled in a new device management system called Absolute. This allows us to manage and monitor the Ipads. It also allowed us to create our very own GHSD APP store so that we can take advantage of the Apple Volume Licensing program (most purchases over 20 copies are 50% off the regular price).
b. The GHSD APP store features both free and paid Applications and is unique to every school. To use the GHSD Store follow the steps below:
Step 1: Find the GHSD APP Store icon (Blue AbsoluteAPPS) on the home screen and launch it.
Step 2: Choose the APP you would like to install and click the Install button.
Step 3: You will be prompted for a user name and password (Please contact Jaelyn or Shelley)
Step 4: Wait for the APP to download/install and Appear on the Home screen.
c. If you find a great APP that you would like to share at your school that is FREE, send an email to [email protected] and it can be added to your school Store.
d. If you find a great APP that you would like to purchase more than one copy of, send the request to your administrator for approval. They can then contact Shelley. They will then be added to your school APP Store.
e. If you find a great APP that you would like to try or just purchase a single copy of, you may use the Store wirelessly directly on the Ipad. Please DO NOT connect (sync) the Ipad to your computer. You may log out of the GHSD Itunes account by following the steps below:
Step 1: Find the APP Store icon on the home screen and launch it.
Step 2: At the bottom of the APP Store screen find Featured.
Step 3: Scroll to the bottom of the Featured screen and you will find an LE ID button that should read [email protected]
Step 4: Tap the button. A dialogue box will launch and feature a Sign Out button. Tap Sign Out and you will see the APPLE ID button at the bottom of the screen change to Sign In. You can then Sign In with an Existing Apple ID to make your purchase with a different account.
f. When you have completed your purchase, please remember to Sign In with the GHSD Ipad account as all updates need to be performed with the GHSD login credentials.
3. Ipads Owned by the Community, Student or Teacher.
a. Golden Hills technology department does not support these devices.
b. APPs can be downloaded using an Itunes account or buying an Itunes card.
c. You are the manager for your own Ipods/Ipads.
d. Instructional Coaches may make suggestions and help you with learning to manage your own accounts if you need this support.
