What is WordQ?
WordQ will read aloud any text you can highlight to improve comprehension and proofreading skills. The award-winning tool works with virtually any program, such as your web browser, Facebook, MS Word, Notepad, your email client like Outlook or Gmail, as well as your instant messaging application.
For an individual whose writing is a struggle or for a straight-A student looking to expand his or her vocabulary, WordQ’s writing prediction capability makes writing easier, fun and engaging. Teachers can upload topic or vocabulary lists that are relevant to student interests.
WordQ enables auditory proofreading so a user can hear how s/he has written a sentence or passage – a proven way to develop grammar, spelling, pronunciation, and comprehension skills plus a willingness to edit, correct and improve personal writing.
Students develop stronger writing and editing skill habits and proficiencies when they use WordQ in all their subjects. School staff can produce student documentation and parent emails easily and stay in compliance with district approved student comment policies.
Business professionals use WordQ to ensure their documentation and emails are accurate and free from conventional writing errors.
What is SpeakQ?
speakQ is an add-on that enhances WordQ.
SpeakQ’s forgiving speech-to-text capability enables individuals with graphomotor challenges to express themselves in text format. Train it to understand your voice with no reading required – recognizes soft pronunciation like slippery b’s: “beneficial” vs. “an official”.
An easy tool to implement, SpeakQ works without voice commands so there’s nothing to remember, and it eliminates the need to repeat or to say “scratch that” and repeat from the beginning—it’s frustration-free.
When used with WordQ, SpeakQ lets you type the words you know and speak the ones you don’t. SpeakQ offers suggestions for words you have difficulty pronouncing.
For students whose speech isn’t clear, or who have difficulty thinking in phrases or sentences, they can switch from typing or using word prediction with SpeakQ.
